The Surfcastle opened its doors on the 1st of April of 2007 and our first guest was an Hawaiian pro surfer named Sage Huls. He was entering a (WQS) in Peniche and he liked our spot! This was the best kick off for a very promising season and soon after that we started tutoring the art of Surfing to our guests.

We are global because you will find surfers from all over the world who come to our surf camp in Portugal to surf, share stories and have a good time with friends. Global because our school teaches you to surf in all of its aspects, from safety to history, through the most radical and risky maneuvers, and of course because the overall joy which is contagious, regardless of age, sex or nationality.

Lagido Surf House is located on Baleal Island in the peninsula of Peniche (less than one hour from Lisbon).

Peniche is located at the western extremity of a peninsula of the same name, meaning that it’s almost an Island, surrounded by surfspots, that work at almost any given swell and wind direction, making for consistent conditions to learn and practice surfing all year round.
